Laurel encourages Jasmine to tell the truth about Shane's murder but Debbie continues to have a hold over her. When things get difficult, and Eli is arrested, they decide to do a runner. It all goes wrong, leaving Jasmine on her own as she heads out of town – and Debbie in a police cell. Eli can't cope with the questioning, and the threat of a life sentence, so confesses everything. When he returns home, Zak is furious with him for not protecting Debbie and throws him out.

Donna goes to Zak's birthday party and makes some interesting connections between Debbie and Eli's behaviour and a feedbag in the barn – identical to the one used to wrap Shane's body. When she discovers that those types of bags were discontinued ten years ago, she is sure Eli is to blame. She takes her evidence to DC Williams and the police drag him away for questioning.

Val's plan to throw a divorce party doesn't quite go to plan, when Paul is horrified to walk into a troupe of male dancers. Lily scheme to get Jonny back to the village doesn't work either so she comes up with the idea that Paul should go and visit him in Australia. The idea appeals to him but Val makes up a story that Rodney has a serious heart condition so she can make him stay.

Anna is summoned to a De Souza board meeting, fully intending to sell her shares in the business. Instead, she is floored to discover that De Souza is the major shareholders in Polek Haulage. Meanwhile, the Kings discover they have until the end of the day to raise funds or else the creditors will liquidate their assets. When Anna returns from the meeting, Matthew is furious to hear about the situation, almost cancelling the wedding.

Jasmine is plagued by nightmares following the disposal of Shane's body. Debbie and Eli do their best to help and burn evidence as they tell Jasmine to try and carry on as normal. She finally resolves not to let Shane's murder ruin her life and she gets on with writing a story about the possible church closure. Debbie is relieved but can the girls get on with their lives?

Jasmine realises that Shane has strayed onto the wrong side of the law and she goes to Shane's flat to seek out evidence, which she finds in drugs and money. But it turns nasty when Shane returns and finds her hiding in a cupboard and starts to make demands. He is about to rape her when Debbie comes to the rescue – but goes to far when hitting him over the head with a chair, and kills him.

Katie warns Andy to straighten out or risk losing everything and tries to persuade Jo to let him see Sarah. Daz also helps out and arranges to bring Jo and Sarah to the Woolpack where he has arranged a special nativity performance. Things go so well for Andy he gets carried away and kisses Katie – much to her horror. He calls her a tease which angers her enough to terminate his employment. Also, Daz has see what went on so tells Jo who sees it as a sign of Katie's revenge. However, they make up over a heart to heart – when Jo confesses she can't leave the village because of Sarah. Will Katie be able to persuade her otherwise?

Andy's happy to be leaving hospital at the start of the week. But his glee is short lived when Diane tells him that Jo doesn't want him to return to the farm. With nowhere to go, Andy reluctantly accepts Diane's offer to stay at the pub. But he's not the only one who's unhappy about that. When Val finds out she hits the roof. Will Diane be able to persuade her that Andy needs his family right now?
